A website with HTTPS in the site address will rank higher. Google has been marking HTTP sites in Chrome “Not secure” since July 2018. Other search engines are following suit. They are looking for HTTPS encryption provided by the installation of SSL.
The 47% results above suggest that half the survey population were not concerned about the warning. Maybe they didn’t notice. So, one could take a “glass is half full” view of the study.
